A Sight template defines the device monitoring configuration for rooms using the Sight subscription tier. Unlike Space VC and Space CE templates, Sight templates do not require you to select a software version. The software is managed automatically by Innomate as part of the Innomesh SaaS platform, with new drivers and bug fixes delivered behind the scenes while maintaining backwards compatibility.
Prerequisites
- Administrator or template-creation permissions in Innomesh Room Manager
- At least one Sight subscription allocated to your tenancy
Creating the Template
- Navigate to the Templates page in Room Manager.
- Click Add New Template.
- Enter a template name that describes the room type (e.g., “Lecture Theatre Sight”, “Meeting Room Sight”).
- Select Sight as the template type.
- Click Create.
Configuring Devices
After creating the template, add the devices you want to monitor:
- Open the template by clicking its name in the Templates list.
- Navigate to the Devices section.
- Click Add Device and select the appropriate driver for each device you want to monitor.
- Configure the device properties as required (device name, category, communication protocol).
Sight uses native communication protocols to pull live data from devices. The available drivers depend on the device manufacturer and model. See Sight Overview for details on supported device types and performance tiers.
Template Options
From the template options menu, you can:
- Edit the template name and properties
- Add or remove devices from the monitoring configuration
- Duplicate the template to create a variant
- Delete the template (this does not affect deployed rooms)
- Download JSON to export the template configuration
