Creating a Space VC Room

⚠️ Warning
Space VC is being sunset. New Space deployments for room control will be offered in Space CE only. Existing Space VC rooms will continue to be supported.

This guide walks through the process of setting up a new Space VC room in the Innomesh Room Manager. It assumes familiarity with the Rooms page and template concepts.

Initial Steps

  1. Navigate to Room Manager and click Add New Room.
  2. Select a template by filtering with the Type dropdown. Choose a Space VC template, identified by a building icon.
  3. Click Next to proceed.
  4. Select the Zone where you want to deploy the room. It is recommended to deploy to a testing zone first, then move the room to production once it is fully configured.
  5. Click Next again.

Properties Section

Populate the following required fields.

  • Room Name: The display name for the room.
  • Room Repository Name: The internal identifier for the room.
  • Helpdesk Number: The support number displayed to users.
  • Room Author: The name of the person creating the room.

It is recommended to check In Maintenance to prevent alerts from appearing in the Hotlist until the room is fully commissioned. Uncheck this box once setup is complete.

Devices Section

Native Devices

Crestron Native device information is pre-populated from the template with IPID values. To modify a device, hover over it and click the pencil icon to edit. If you need to remove a device inherited from the template, use the edit function to disable it rather than deleting it. This helps avoid potential issues. You can also duplicate or delete devices as needed.

IP Devices

Click Click to Populate to add IP device hostnames or IP addresses. Manage devices using the three icons to the right of each IP address: duplicate, edit, and delete.

Options Menu

Access additional features via the dropdown menu at the top right of the room configuration window.

  • Download as .JSON: Export room settings as a JSON file.
  • Copy Device IDs: Copy specific device IDs to the clipboard.
  • Update XPanels: Refresh connected XPanels. Note that XPanels do not auto-update.
  • Update User Group: Manage access permissions for the room.
  • Assign Zoom Room: Associate a Zoom room detected by Innomesh with this room’s configuration. The two rooms are merged, and any alerts raised against the Zoom room appear against the Innomesh room in the Hotlist.
  • Upgrade Pulse to Sight: Switch from basic online/offline monitoring to detailed device insights.
  • Load Room From File: Upload a configuration via JSON or ZIP file.

Completing the Room

Once all information has been entered and verified, click Create to deploy the room.
