Default Routes & Hot Plug Routes

The Automation section enables you to define how sources route automatically based on room conditions. It supports two main types of automated routes and controls EWIS triggering.

Default Routes

Default Routes specify which source automatically routes when the room enters a particular mode. You can add new routes via the Add Default Route button.

Example Use Case: When the room powers on in Presentation mode, a PC source automatically routes to all displays.

Key Properties

PropertyPurpose
IDUnique route identifier
DisableCheckbox to deactivate the route
Room ModeTriggers the route upon room mode transition
AV Source IDSource to route (defined in AV Sources section)
DestinationTarget destination type or types

Special Keywords

  • All routes to every destination type.
  • None represents no source.

Hot Plug Routes

Hot Plug Routes define behaviour when source sync is detected, such as a laptop HDMI connection. If the room is off when triggered, it powers on first and then executes the route. If the room is already on, the route executes immediately.

When a routed source loses sync, the system searches for another Hot Plug Route with active sync. If none exists, it attempts a Default Route for the same destination, or routes None if unavailable.

Example Use Case: A connected laptop automatically routes to all displays. Disconnecting the laptop reverts to the default PC source.

EWIS

EWIS (Early Warning and Intercommunication System) monitors fire and emergency sensors within the room. Each sensor is linked to a configured device.

Sensor Connection Types

  • Digital IO: Monitors a specific channel. The Trigger Method defines signal interpretation.
  • DSP: Monitors signal presence on a specific DSP block.

When triggered, the system sends a warning notification to the UI. The warning clears automatically once all sensors return to normal.
