Room Operations Mapping allows you to define coordinated device actions that can be triggered from the Portal rooms context menu for Sight rooms. Instead of controlling individual devices one by one, you can map a single room-level operation (such as “Power On Room” or “Start Presentation”) to multiple device actions that execute together.
This feature was introduced in Innomesh v3.5.0 and requires Innomesh Ops.
How It Works
A room operation mapping links a named operation to one or more device-level actions. When a support team member triggers the operation from the Portal Rooms page or Room Support View, all mapped device actions execute in sequence.
For example, a “Power On Room” operation might:
- Power on the projector
- Lower the projector screen
- Set the DSP to the default audio preset
- Recall the default lighting scene
Configuring Room Operations Mapping
- Open a Sight room in Room Manager.
- Select Options (top right corner).
- Click Room Operations Mapping.
- Click Add Mapping to create a new operation.
- Define the operation name (this is what appears in the Portal context menu).
- For each device action in the operation:
- Select the target device from the room’s device list
- Select the action to perform (power on/off, preset recall, input select, etc.)
- Optionally set a delay (in seconds) before the action executes
- Click Add to save the mapping.
- Click Save, then Update to apply.
Available Device Actions
The actions available for each device depend on the device type and its driver capabilities. Common actions include:
- Power control: Power on, power off, reboot
- Input selection: Select a specific input source
- Preset recall: Recall a DSP, lighting, or display preset
- Volume control: Set volume level, mute/unmute
- Motor control: Extend/retract (projector screens, blinds)
- PDU control: Power cycle individual outlets
Executing Operations from Portal
Once configured, room operations appear in the Portal:
- Rooms page: Right-click a room to see available operations in the context menu
- Room Support View: Operations are listed in the room’s action panel
Support team members with appropriate RBAC permissions can trigger any mapped operation with a single click.
Relationship to Room State Mapping
Room Operations Mapping works alongside Room State Mapping. While state mapping reads device properties to determine room status (is the room on, occupied, presenting), operations mapping writes commands to devices to change the room state.
Together, they provide a complete remote monitoring and control solution for Sight rooms.
