Room Manager Since v2.17.0

Bluetooth Management

Bluetooth Management in Space CE allows room users to pair, unpair, and disconnect Bluetooth audio devices directly from the Crestron touch panel. This is useful for rooms with Bluetooth-enabled speakers, soundbars, or audio wall plates where users need to connect personal devices for audio playback. This feature was introduced in Space CE v2.17.0.

Capabilities

ActionDescription
PairPut the Bluetooth device into pairing mode and connect a user’s phone, laptop, or tablet.
UnpairRemove a previously paired device from the Bluetooth device’s memory.
DisconnectDisconnect the currently connected device without removing the pairing.

Supported Devices

Bluetooth management is available for devices using the QSC Bluetooth Audio Wall Plate driver (introduced in Space CE v2.17.0) and other Bluetooth-capable drivers that expose pairing controls.

Bluetooth management is configured at the template level.

  1. Open the Space CE template in Room Manager.
  2. Add a Bluetooth-capable device to the room (e.g., QSC Bluetooth Audio Wall Plate).

Touch Panel Experience

  1. Tap Bluetooth to open the Bluetooth controls.
  2. Tap Pair to put the device into discoverable mode.
  3. Connect from their personal device (phone, laptop, etc.).
  4. Tap Disconnect when finished to release the connection.

⚠️ Warning
Paired devices remain in the Bluetooth device’s memory until explicitly unpaired. In shared room environments, consider using Disconnect (which preserves the pairing for quick reconnection) or Unpair (which removes the device entirely) based on your security requirements.
